Hi, I'm Rafael.
I'm a software developer and I like working with data and integrations.
I am building this site so that public information from Uruguay is available for your systems or reports. If you need a specific piece of data, tell me and we will see how to get it.
How this site works
For anyone who wants to know what it is built with and how the data gets here.
- Where the data comes from
- Each piece of data is taken from its original source (the BCU for exchange rates, the INE for the CPI, the laws for holidays). It is not copied from other sites.
- Data loading
- Processes written in Node.js and TypeScript that run by themselves every day with GitHub Actions. Before saving, they validate what they download: if a source changes its format, the load fails instead of saving wrong data.
- Database
- PostgreSQL. Public data can be read, but only the loading processes can write it.
- Site and API
- Next.js (React) with TypeScript. The API returns JSON and can be used from any language, Excel or Power BI.
- Hosting
- Published on Vercel, with caching to answer fast and a limit of requests per IP to protect the service.
- Tests
- Automatic tests of the source readers and of the API, to catch errors before publishing.
